My Story
July 2010...

Hi there!  My name is Veronica and I'm the owner of this little online boutique called Hooked On You!  I'm also a Stay-At-Home-Mom to three little girls, ages five, two and three months old.  As you can imagine, life is pretty busy for me! :)

Chances are, you've come here Kelly's Korner. If not, I am still so glad that you've found your way here! Let me tell you a little bit about myself...

I started crocheting back when my older daughter was still small. In the beginning, I enjoyed crocheting hats just for her. What was so fun was that when I would take my daughter out wearing a hat I had crocheted, people would stop and ask where I bought her hat. For a long time after that, I continued to make hats for family and friends. And then in January of 2009, something big happened. I was cruising around the Internet one day and just happened to come across Kelly's blog. It was the day she was in labor with her baby, and she was blogging from the hospital! To make a long story short, her daughter Harper was born later that night and immediately had trouble breathing. She was rushed to another hospital and they found that she had pneumonia which resulted in a three week stay in the NICU. From that first day on, I started reading Kelly's blog and something inside of me changed. I was amazed to see an entire community of Christian bloggers rally together to stand in faith for Baby Harper's healing. Her story touched me and I realized how much I needed God back in my life. As a result of that, I decided to rededicate my life to the Lord!

A few days after I found Kelly's blog, I decided to email Kelly to see if it was okay if I could send her some hats for Harper. Kelly was sweet enough to say yes, so I made a few hats and sent them off to the hospital. One of the hats was brown with a big pink flower. Not long after Kelly received the hats, she posted a picture on her blog of Harper wearing that hat. Before too long, people began to ask where they could find "The Harper Hat," as they began to call it. At that point I didn't have a blog, so there was really no way for people to contact me. I prayed about it and decided to start my own blog where I could sell the hats I make and share a little about my life at the same time. I ended up starting a separate blog from which to sell my hats and that worked well for several months. I decided to start this website so I can sell some premade hats as well as continuing to take custom hat orders.  I'm also excited to announce that I'll be offering hand crocheted hair accessories in September 2010!

So there you have it...the long story of how I got started. I am so glad that God has his hand upon my life and so thankful for all that He has done for me. It has truly been amazing to see how something that just started off as a hobby has turned into something more. To me, I am still just a simple mom who loves to crochet simple things! I am so grateful to have met Kelly and so thankful to have the Lord back in my life again!
